Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nothing Gold Can Stay
by Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold,
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
(Photos taken in and around Lake City, Colorado. Do you know what Lake City is famous for? Well, I don't want to ruin the lovely poetic mood induced by Mr. Frost, so if you're curious, click here: http://www.sangres.com/history/alferdpacker.htmistory.htm.)
