Delivering a Baby and a Thanksgiving Meal
(From the Denver Post "Odds and Ends" section today)

BOSTON (Nov. 28) -- A Boston woman says she was forced to split her time between helping her daughter deliver a baby at home and cooking Thanksgiving dinner.

Patricia McCalop was in the middle of preparing the meal when Africa McCalop suddenly went into labor two weeks early.
The grandmother called 911, and a dispatcher talked her through the delivery and helped her confirm that the baby girl was healthy and breathing.

Paramedics arrived shortly afterward and took the mother and newborn to the hospital. They are both in good health.
McCalop said she kept running between the kitchen and her daughter in labor because she didn't want the turkey to burn while helping her child deliver the baby.

The infant weighed six pounds.

Which, of course, begs the question...

(What's the first thing that comes into your mind?)

Somewhat of a challenge for Thanksgiving Day...I fear my meal would have had to be put on the "back burner." In situations like this I don't multitask very well! Have a grand day!!! Cathy

How funny. I think I would have thought enough to turn the oven off but the turkey would have gone to waste while I delivered my granddaughter. ;)

I can't believe they forgot to mention how much the turkey weighed! ;o)

Oh my word!!! That is a great story! Thankfully the baby was delivered safely and hopefully it was one yummy turkey -- although, I suspect either way, it turned out to be a nice day for that family. :)

Hugs!

A suggestion for ledftovers..Make T.V. dinners out of it and put in freezer. They are fabulous and all homemade!
