I liked the Snow White version because it looked so great with the music. My youngest son (8 years old) says he LOVED the second one with Bugs Bunny "because it had funny stuff in it!" So - our votes cancel each other out! LOL But I am ready to dance! step together steps and cross kick back together backs . . . . yelling that favorite Texas word on the cross kicks, of course! Ya'll do know how to do the Cotton Eyed Joe, right?
In our group, I think the boys and the goofier girls liked the Bugs one ~ and the people with a little higher aesthetic sensibility liked the Snow White one. I'm not telling which group I fall into...
Peggy~ I didn't know there was an actual dance to Cotton-eye Joe! Now, that would be fun to learn. I bet we might be able to find an example on you-tube. I'm gonna have to look. Learning that would be a fun afternoon's project!
Lisa, Bia said she wanted to learn it, too! I immediately thought YouTube just like you did. Last night I wasted all sorts of time looking. Nope! I am thinking one of my classes should submit a YouTube in the fall!! I vaguely remember an authentic version of the Cotton Eyed Joe in Urban Cowboy but the movie's story is so painful to watch (and NOT kid appropriate) that I'm not going to check it out anytime soon.
What?! You never knew that there was an actual dance for the Cotton Eyed Joe? What kind of hillbilly are ya anyways? JK I must admit, I wanted to get up and dance it as well, though sadly, I've forgotten how to do it. :)

Okay, for what it's worth, I like the Snow White one!
Love that song. This is the version I like, it's based on the video game Brad and I used to play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAXmnjjolNc
Me and all of my boys, with the exception of our non-talkee boy (1 year old) loved the Bugs Bunny version. Yes. Definitely the Bugs!

Even families from the boon-docks northern NY love the Cotton-Eyed Joe!! The kids all lined up and started dancing!
