First Day of the Novena to the Holy Ghost
The prayers said by the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary between Our Lord's Ascension and Pentecost consitituted the first Novena! Today is the day to begin the Novena to the Holy Ghost!
Today, the first day of May,
also begins the month of Our Lady!
One special way to celebrate this month is by observing Fr. Lasance's special devotions of flowers for each day of the month. Today, being May 1st, is usually the celebration of St. Joseph the Worker, and the flower for today is the lily, the symbol of purity, perfectly exemplified by both Mary and her spouse, Joseph.
