The Menu Friday Night

Dinner

We would like to thank the hens (Thanks, ladies!) for the two dozen eggs (eight per pie),

Stella (the sweetheart) for the milk (a half cup per pie),

Our heavenly Father for all the rain to grow the vegetables and herbs (five or six spinach leaves, a palmful of basil, and a sprinkling of chives per pie),

And our kind grocers down the road for the deep dish crusts (since I hate making pie crust) and tomatoes (since ours aren't ripe yet).

Yum! Was it good when we put it all together!

And it turns out that William will eat quiche (if it's swimming in ketchup, of cours).

Dessert

Leave it to William to roast a graham cracker... Definitely a little man not bound by convention.

(Nobody else could pierce one with a stick without it breaking!)

YUMMY!

so do you do meatless fridays too? we just started this. I'm hoping that sooner or later I'll REMEMBER what day of the week it is before suppertime without hubby having to tell me! Oh and EVERYTHING is better with ketchup! It's not a vegetable...it's a FOOD GROUP!!

Did you know, hubby's NEVER had s'mores! (I KNOW! Damn Yankee!) He thought I was teasing him when I first mentioned them...didn't believe me at all.

One of these days we'll make us some....

I came across this quote and IMMEDIATELY thought of you!

"How can there be too many children? That is like saying there are too many flowers!"

One of the many things I like about your family is seeing one with light hair and one with dark hair...the delights of their sameness and 'differentness'! If God had blessed me with more children here on earth, I wonder if another redhead would have eventually popped up??!!

Tell William he is in deep trouble if we ever come face to face because I will have to hug and smooch him for being so cute...those little girls better watch out too, epecially building adorable fairy houses like that! Roasting that graham cracker is awesome...just love it!
Your older kids are very cute too...love the guys chowing down on their marshmellows with such gusto!
Your food looked wonderful and made me hungry and I always try to observe meatless Fridays in honor of our Saviour's gift to us.

blessings and hugs,

marcy

I'm sure everything tastes that much better when you use fresh ingredients like that.

We are in the middle of planning a backyard renovation, and your post decided us . . . we want to add a fire pit.
