Guarding the Gold

How do you unwrap these, Mommy?Wait a minute. There's no chocolate?
Mommy.

We've been playing leprechauns this morning. Gabriel (4) has been very intent on hiding the pot of fake gold for the girls to find. It's a very serious business to him, but William (3) just doesnt quite get the point. As soon as Gabe calls out to the girls to come find the gold, William runs to where they hid it, stands over it and yells "Here it is! Here it is!"

Gabriel tried hard all morning to bite back his frustration, but it was very trying. We finally occupied William elsewhere so Gabe could hide his treasure without his little brother seeing, and things went a lot more smoothly. A little later, though, Gabe came to me and, with a very serious little face apologized for his little brother: "You know, Mommy," he said, "William was just being a nice leprechaun. He wants to share his gold." Bless him for working that out.

This Mommy knows where the gold is.
